A Kottu Experience Like No Other

SPICY CHICKEN KOTTU

in hot plate restaurant

A taste of the outstanding Chicken kottu prepared at Hot Plate Restaurant in Kuliyapitiya became my favorite food of the day. My friend joined me when I experienced this taste for the first time. The particular chicken devil flavor in this kottu made it delightfully tasty to eat. Customers can modify the hotness level according to their personal preference.

Each serving of chicken kottu caters to four people at a price which makes it affordable. At Hot Plate Restaurant customers have the choice to eat in the restaurant or take their meals for later use. Every staff member provides a welcoming attitude to customers. The Kuliyapitiya area residents should consider visiting Hot Plate Restaurant. The food experience will provide you with the same satisfaction that it offered me.

The establishment operated as a prison for 138 continuous years starting from 1876 all the way until its closure on January 1, 2014 . The prisoners relocated to Pallekele after closing this establishment. During 2019 the Sri Lankan government converted the obsolete prison into Bogambara Cultural Park which became a destination for tourists. The original site of Bogambara Wewa served as the location for building the prison complex. The buildings at the prison were created under the supervision of F. Vine who worked for the Ceylon Public Works Department. The entrance gate along with fortress walls found their inspiration from the Bastille. The prison facility covered 5.3 hectares (13 acres) while offering 408 cells across three stories in a big 382-cell structure. A hospital building existed among the other prison facilities.
