AMBULUWAWA TOWER
Ambuluwawa Tower stands among the most significant places in Sri Lanka as it rests by Gampola. The structure has a height of 3,560 meters from sea level and enables visitors to see the nearby mountains including Sri Pada (Adam's Peak) and Knuckles Range as well as Bathalegala (Bible Rock). From its height of 48 meters visitors can enjoy a complete panoramic view which includes all scenic elements of the surrounding forests and towns and rivers below. Nature enthusiasts and adventurers should visit this location because of its appealing character.
Sri Lanka's exceptional attraction lies in its status as the country's initial Multi Religious Centre at Ambuluwawa. One location at Ambuluwawa features four major religious places of Buddhist temple, Hindu kovil, mosque and Christian church side by side. Different religious organizations maintain peaceful alliances throughout the national territory. The construction of the tower resembles a Buddhist stupa that elevates its significance.
The entire area of Ambuluwawa remains exceptionally rich with natural elements. A collection of more than 200 plant species brings medicine-based species among them. The transformation to biodiversity complex in 2006 led people dedicated to nature and environmental protection to become interested in this site.
Although reaching the tower's peak requires climbing up a steep path visitors will find that the panoramic views exceed the difficulties of reaching the summit. Beautiful mountain views with scenic landscapes become visible during days with good weather conditions. Relaxation seekers will enjoy contemplation at the Bodhi tree and garden areas and sacred ponds situated near the vicinity.
Sri Lanka visitors should plan to visit Ambuluwawa Tower because of its spiritual significance as well as its natural beauty and impressive vistas.
